He went on to attend podiatric medical school in Independence, Ohio, at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine formerly known as Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, and graduated in 2013 with a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Plaskey then completed a rigorous three-year podiatric medical and surgical residency at Beaumont Healthcare Hospital in Wayne, MI. which included a wide variety of conservative treatments as well as surgical intervention for diabetic foot care, bunion deformity, hammertoe deformity, neuroma removal, arthritic joints (which consisted of fusion or implant placement), ankle fractures, metatarsal fractures, flat foot reconstruction, calcaneal and talar fractures, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon ruptures, and equinus, as well as office procedures such as partial nail avulsions, injections, and bracing/orthotics.
